| I'm a non-professional (I hate the word amateur) NYC area photographer here on DA mostly to explore my love of the art nude genre. I started with this a few years ago. I've been fortunate to work with some remarkably talented models and people and I've learned volumes about the craft - and I'm still learning, still improving, still getting better and refining my artistic vision. As far as that artistic vision goes, I sum it up as follows: Clothes suck If all the world is a stage, then clothes are our costume. What we wear depends on the role we play, or wish to play. We wear suit to be a business man. A uniform to be a cop. We dress conservatively to as to appear conservative. We show extra skin when we want to be sexy. We'll spend small fortunes on the latest fashion trends so as to appear "cool" and express our social identity - identical to a million other people. But the thing is, nothing we wear really says anything about our identity at all. It expresses what we want other people to see us as, not who we actually are. I've found that the nude is something special. I love the language of the body, its infinite number of expressions and its ability to reveal something deep about the subject; both the individual person and humanity in general. The nude is simple, innocent, beautiful, and fundamentally who we are - no more and no less. I like chatting with, meeting, and networking with any and all photographers, models, and enthusiasts interested in the genre. Please feel free to leave (respectful) comments or otherwise message me. I'll also mention that I'm not purely a nude artist. I shoot every style and genre; I love all aspects of photography and all subjects. I invite anyone interested in the rest of my work to peruse my web site [link] or follow me on Flickr [link] |
